I believe community impact happens in little moments, and luckily magical little moments are realistic for a teenage titleholder to achieve. As a go-getter, I try to make every interaction I have – both online and in-
person – genuine, warm and intentional. Being a titleholder gives you hundreds of individual moments to make a child smile, help an older person remember, or just make someone’s day better. I cherish those kinds of roles when given the chance.

During my tenure as Miss Virginia Teen Volunteer, I am excited to work to expand my SERVE initiative, Girl Power Grants. The GPG concept is simple: By getting 100 girls to each raise $100, together we annually fund $10,000 in grants to worthy youth-focused nonprofits in our area that our members select. To date, we’ve awarded $100,000 in total grants to 19 nonprofits through membership and fundraising. As the GPG executive director, I lead the group, manage our membership and coordinate nonprofit outreach. I also handle our website (www.girlpowergrants.org) and social media, organize meetings and find girls to get involved. During the school year, this job takes 10-15 hours every week.

• My SERVE intiative actually began in 2015, when my older sister founded Girl Power Grants. Since 2020, I have continued her legacy as executive director. To date, we have awarded $100,000 in total grants to 19 nonprofit organizations and are continuing to go strong each year!

• I’m proud to say my first two official jobs have been as a paid social media creator at The Richmond Forum and ACIS Educational Travel Company, which taught me a lot about digital outreach, marketing, and how to run a consistent brand.

• I serve weekly as a memory care nursing home volunteer.

• Proud Salvation Army bell ringer.

• Volunteering with Young Lives to babysit the children of teen moms.

• Active member of SCA and FCA.
