MISS VIRGINIA VOLUNTEER 2024
ANNIE MOWERY
I love the emphasis that the Miss Volunteer program places on SERVICE. As a lifelong volunteer, I am enamored with being able to instruct people about my platform and beyond, all under the umbrella of “service”. My platform is about bringing people together since we all share a collective history. Promoting the teaching of history in a fun and authentic way has been the passionate center of my world for years. I am also a domestic violence survivor. Being able to show the strength I have gained from that experience has motivated me to want to spread and model that power to others. As Miss Virginia Volunteer, I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences about my platform and my personal growth as a woman. I hope others can now be motivated to be viably strong women as I am.
A BIT ABOUT ME!
WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO

Annie and the Miss Virginia Volunteer Organization are partnering with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office to present a new educational program that’s focused on empowering students to make good decisions at home, around friends, and after school. D.A.R.E to Empower teaches children how to define, asses, respond, and evaluate situations so they can overcome peer pressure and achieve their goals and dreams.
